ENRICHMENT AND GLOBAL CAMPUS
Term I:
During Term I, I helped organized the school’s Model United Nations, UNVA 2016. I was the Vice-Chief of Special Committees, which meant that I helped organized the five Special Committees, but I was more focused on the International Criminal Court (ICC). I consider ICC the most difficult committee to organize, since I was in charge of about 20 people. ICC works different from all the other committees, that’s why it is classified as a Special Committee. In conclusion, I enjoyed organizing UNVA 2016 and I consider that it was a success.
Term II:
Term III:
During Term II, I decided to participate in ISRMUN 2016. This was going to be this year’s last simulation. I ended up in the committee of the United States Presidential Cabinet (USPC) as the Secretary of Defense. I tried to participate as much as I could to help with solutions, but I wasn’t very active during this simulation. This was also my last simulation as preparation for NHSMUN 2017.
During Term III, it was time for the INTERIMS trip that I’ve wanted so badly. I went to Japan to learn about its culture and way of living, which is very different. In Japan, there is a correct way to do things for everything (eating, seating, walking, etc.). I will never forget this experience and all the things I learned from this trip.
Term IV:
During Term IV, I went to the National High School Model Untied Nations (NHSMUN 2017) at New York. This simulation was way different from what I expected and I learned how to negotiate properly with people from other countries. Each committee had up to 150 delegates. The simulation is different from local simulations in Monterrey and it was an amazing experience. Finally, the we won “Outstanding Participation from a Foreign Delegation” and “Excellence in Research and Preparation.”
Term V:
During Term V, I didn't participated in any extracurricular activities, but I helped "Dr. Sonrisas" project. This project helps children that have terminal illnesses, such as Cancer. I joined this project when a group leader invited me to help. Each member of the group has to sell at least one box of 35 chocolates, and I sold them.
